Did you Know? The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Mississippi serves more than 3,200 youth who spend nearly 750,000 hours each year in our 6 Jackson-area Clubs and our camp facility in Hazelhurst.
Many of the youth we serve come from disadvantaged circumstances, and if not for our Clubs, many would be left unsupervised, often in dangerous neighborhoods where drug use and violence are constant threats. Instead of being out on the streets, our youth have a positive place to come after school and during the summer where they learn values and lessons which will serve them a lifetime.
We are enabling these at-risk youth the chance the become successful adults who will be assets to the community. By doing so, we are making Jackson a better and safer place to live.
Our Impact
• 92% of Boys & Girls Club alumni graduate high school, as compared to the Mississippi average of just 70%.
• 67% say their Club helped them become more committed to their education.
• 67% say their Club helped them stay out of trouble with the law.
• 57% say their Club literally “saved their lives.”
• 92% say they learned the importance of helping others at their Club.
• 85% say the Club helped them know the difference between right and wrong.
